Valentine’s Day: Sustainable Floral Design in the Bay Area
After a long winter, I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of early spring flowers. As a florist, I’m always looking ahead to reliable, season-driven blooms to inspire my designs. January has been a relatively quiet month for my business; however, for much of the month I was sidelined by a nasty cold that turned out to be the flu. I’m usually very healthy, but this year it hit me hard. Thankfully, I’m finally on the mend and starting to feel like myself again.
With renewed energy, I’m looking forward to planning and preparing for Valentine’s Day and returning to the San Francisco Flower Market to see what early pre-spring flowers are beginning to appear.
For those who are new here, let me introduce myself. My name is Grace Deguzman, and I am the owner of Grace Deguzman Floral. Established in August 2024, Grace Deguzman Floral is a Bay Area–based floral studio serving San Francisco and Napa Valley, specializing in romantic, garden-inspired floral designs for weddings and events. My aesthetic is soft, loose, and natural, with an emphasis on movement. Every design is created to feel intentional, elevated, and deeply personal.
